Robinhood Crypto Wallet Waitlist Reaches 1 Million

The waitlist for Robinhood’s recently announced crypto wallet has hit more than one million customers.

During an interview with CNBC, CEO Vlad Tenev said that more than 1 million customers are on the waitlist for Robinhood’s long-awaited crypto wallet.

“We’re very proud of our cryptocurrency platform and giving people more utility with the coins they have,” Tenev said.

“We rolled out our wallets waitlist. A lot of people have been asking for the ability to send and receive cryptocurrencies, transfer them to hardware wallets, transfer them onto the platform to consolidate and the crypto wallets waitlist is well over a million people now,” the CEO added.

In September, Robinhood had announced that it was testing a crypto wallet feature allowing investors to trade, send, and receive virtual currencies.

Additionally, the wallet will also allow users to move digital currencies in and out of the Robinhood app. Currently, the company offers seven digital currencies including, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.

Cryptocurrencies are now becoming a mainstream asset class as most investors are continuing to include them as a part of a diversified portfolio.

MedTech Startup Intelligent Implants Raises $8.7 Million

Ireland-based MedTech startup, Intelligent Implants, has raised $8.7 million in its latest funding round to make spinal surgery less of a pain.

The startup’s smart implants’ first application is spinal fusion surgery- in which two or more vertebrae are permanently attached to improve stability, reduce pain, or correct a deformity.

More than a million of these surgeries are performed across the world; however, they are generally seen as the last option because of the risk of complications or continued pain after the operation.

Founded in 2014, the company uses wireless implantable electronics to stimulate, steer, and monitor bone growth. It is a provider of electrotherapeutic devices that treat diseases and aids in the recovery of bone and other tissues.

Intelligent Implant also uses data, engineering, and medicine to bring novel, active, and connected medical devices to healthcare.

Moreover, its integrated devices help in the treatment, in addition to decision making for the healthcare professional.

The startup has so far been using sheep or goats for its trials, and it aims to do its first human clinical trials in 2023.

Twitter Users Can Now Subscribe to Newsletters Directly From Their Tweets

The micro-blogging platform, Twitter, is now launching a feature that will allow users to subscribe to Revue newsletters directly from Tweets in their timeline.

In a tweet, Revue, a platform that lets users start and publish newsletters, said, “ We’ve got big news. (You’re really going to like this.) Starting today, your followers can subscribe to Revue newsletters directly from Tweets in their timeline. This is already enabled for all Revue writers on desktop and mobile web, with iOS and Android to follow soon.”

Additionally, if your Twitter account is linked to an email address, you can sign-up to receive newsletter updates with a single click. And, you will not be asked to confirm your subscription through your email inbox.

Twitter had bought Revue in January since the newsletter market continued to pick up the trend. It had recently added Revue newsletter signup buttons to profiles on the web, iOS, and Android.

Overall, this update will make it simple for users to convert Twitter followers into newsletter subscribers.

It will also benefit Revue over other newsletter sites, as writers on these platforms have to take potential subscribers through a slightly longer sign-up process.

Instagram Launches New Collaboration Tools For Creators

Facebook’s Instagram is currently testing new tools for creators to collaborate with partners and brands and earn a commission.

Launched in June, Instagram is expanding its current native affiliate tool that allows creators to discover products, share them with followers, and earn commissions for sales driven by their posts.

The new feature will help creators add a digital storefront to showcase products or collections which are already included in their affiliate partnerships.

This can be done within the “view shop” button on their profile and earn a commission on sales. The company says that the new update is presently available to creators who are part of its native affiliate program.

Additionally, Instagram is also testing new branded content partnerships features that will help creators get discovered by brands.

It will allow creators to add their desired ‘brands list’ that they’re interested in partnering with, giving them priority when businesses are searching for new creators to work with.

The company also says that it will continue to test and refine these features and make them available for more brands and creators soon.
