91% of Bait Attacks Aimed at Gmail, States Barracuda Report
Barracuda recently released a report on the state of bait attacks. The report states that 35% of organizations fell victim to bait attacks.
On an average, three employee emails were affected by the bait attacks. By bait attacks, we are referring to the threats that aim to collect personal information of the targeted user.
What a bait attack does is that it verifies if the email ID is still in use or not. If it becomes clear that the email ID is currently in use, further attacks may be carried out to collect more information from the user.
The usual phishing detectors fail to verify these bait emails, as such emails come from reputed email providers.

Indian Government may put a Stop to What it Sees as “Irresponsible” Crypto ads
The number of crypto-related ads has increased considerably recently, as Indian crypto exchanges aim to onboard millions of new customers in the country. But the government may put a stop to these ads.
As per the memo that underlines that communication between the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi and other stakeholders, it’s obvious that the government feels strongly against these crypto ads.
The Indian government feels that these ads fail to highlight the extremely volatile nature of cryptocurrencies and instead focus on exorbitantly high profits.
Recently, some of India’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, CoinDCX & CoinSwitch Kuber, have started advertising cryptocurrencies aggressively on various platforms, including television and social media.
These ads have attracted strong criticism on social media platforms like Twitter, which must have caught the attention of government officials.
