Changing Your Opinion Does Not Mean You’re Changing

Repeat after me. Changing your opinion does not mean you’re changing who you are.⁣

You are not becoming a different person.⁣

The people who you loved should not love you less.⁣

All you’re doing is that coming to the realization that the people who you originally believed either did not have the complete story, were not trustworthy or were misinformed. ⁣

Either way, if they are people who you truly should have in your life, changing your opinion should not change your relationship with those people.⁣

Changing your opinion is healthy. Changing your opinion is growth. Changing your opinion is the process of evolving and growing, moving forward with greater perspective and more maturity.⁣

We all have the right to be our best selves and part of that means that we not only have the right to change our opinion, but we have the moral and ethical obligation to do so and accept new information, learn, evolve and grow.⁣
