Microsoft to Add Free Built-in VPN 🛡️ Network to Edge Browser 🌐

Microsoft is working on adding a new built-in virtual private network (VPN) service to its Edge browser to improve security and privacy.

The VPN called ‘Edge Secure Network’ is currently being tested by the Cloudflare-powered VPN service.

It would be directly present in the browser as an in-built feature, and it would be offered free to all users.

“Microsoft Edge Secure Network is a service provided in partnership with Cloudflare. Cloudflare is committed to privacy and collects a limited amount of diagnostic and support data acting as Microsoft’s data subprocessor to provide the services. Cloudflare permanently deletes the diagnostic and support data collected every 25 hours,” a Microsoft support page revealed.

Microsoft says that the feature will not only encrypt users’ connections but will also help prevent online tracking.

The feature will also allow users to hide their location by making it possible to browse the web using a virtual IP address, meaning users could access content blocked in their countries.

Messaging App Telegram 📱 to Let Users Send Cryptocurrencies 🪙

Messaging App Telegram has announced that its app users will now be able to send cryptocurrencies within the app via Toncoin.

In a Twitter post, TON, a decentralized layer-1 blockchain created by Telegram, said, “You can now send #Toncoin directly within Telegram chats! It’s a new way to send Toncoin without transaction fees to any Telegram user. With this service, you’ll no longer need to enter long wallet addresses and wait for confirmations.”

TON (The Open Network) also shared a short video detailing how crypto transactions work on the platform.

To get started on the platform, you need to add Telegram’s Wallet bot to your attachment menu, which lets you “purchase cryptocurrency by bank card, exchange, and transfer to other wallets.”

Once you are ready to send crypto, you can drag the Wallet from your attachment menu while being in a chat.

Next, you need to enter the amount of Toncoin you want to send, confirm all the details, and click “Send.” The recipient will receive the Toncoin through the chat on a successful transaction.

Bitcoin Mining Network Difficulty Reaches New All-Time High 📈

The Bitcoin network has reached yet another all-time high (ATH) in terms of mining difficulty beating its previous all-time high of 28.587 trillion to 29.794 trillion.

On April 27, bitcoin mining difficulty reached a new lifetime high, at a block height of 733,824, after jumping 5.56% higher than two weeks ago. This means it is currently the most challenging point in history to mine a BTC block.

Bitcoin network’s mining difficulty correlates to the computational power required to mine BTC blocks, which recorded a new ATH of 258 exahash per second (EH/s) after reaching an all-time high on April 23, 2022, at block 733,197.

Generally, the mining difficulty increases as the hash rate increases. The higher mining difficulty indicates growing competition among miners to confirm a block and extract the block as a reward.

With just 2 million BTC left to mine, and as bitcoin miners continue to pursue the last 2 million bitcoin into circulation, the bitcoin network is well-positioned to gain newer ATH for overall security and price.
