As the metaverse craze continues to grow, more and more companies are getting on board with having digital equivalents in their product list.

Nike is one of the latest companies to join the metaverse club by buying a virtual shoe company that specializes in NFTs and sneakers for the metaverse.

The leading shoemaker has acquired RTFKT, a leading company that leverages cutting-edge innovation to deliver next-generation collectibles that merge culture and gaming.

In a post, Nike’s president and CEO John Donahoe said, “This acquisition is another step that accelerates Nike’s digital transformation and allows us to serve athletes and creators at the intersection of sport, creativity, gaming and culture.”

“We’re acquiring a very talented team of creators with an authentic and connected brand. Our plan is to invest in the RTFKT brand, serve and grow their innovative and creative community and extend Nike’s digital footprint and capabilities,” he added.

Although Nike did not disclose the terms of the deal, it has positioned RTFKT’s lightning bolt-style logo alongside its own iconic swoosh, Jumpman, and Converse marks.

WhatsApp Will Now Hide ‘Last Seen’ Status ? From Unknown Users

Instant Messaging platform WhatsApp is set to offer more flexibility in its visibility features by allowing users more fine control of their display features like their last seen status to their contacts.

Earlier the “last seen” feature was set to “Everyone” by default, but WhatsApp changed it to “My Contacts” instead.

The messaging platform already has a “Nobody” option for users who value their privacy for preventing all users from seeing your last seen status.

However, now the Meta-owned platform is planning to expand the “last seen” feature by adding the ‘My Contacts Except’ option.

According to reports, the feature is currently available on WhatsApp beta version for Android users, and WhatsApp will soon expand the feature to its stable version.

After selecting the option, the selected contacts will not be able to view your “Last Seen” information.

However, you should also note that disabling the last seen option for a particular contact will also not allow you to view their last seen information either.

In a major crypto development, the German savings banks are in plans to enable customers to invest in popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin directly from their accounts.

According to local business magazine Capital, Sparkassen, which is also known as the most notable savings bank in Germany, is said to be working on a test to launch an in-house cryptocurrency wallet and exchange in 2022.

The Sparkassen are centuries-old regional commercial savings banks run by local supervisory boards composed of city council representatives and management boards consisting of banking professionals.

These banks only provide services to their region and focus on loan activities and regional development.

Reports suggest that a dedicated team at the IT service provider S-Payment is preparing the concept.

However, the pilot project is subject to approval by Sparkassen committees at the beginning of 2022. Sparkassen customers would reportedly be able to access crypto trading directly from their accounts.
