Electric Vehicle maker Rivian has announced that it will delay the delivery of its R1T electric pickup truck and R1S SUV with big battery packs to 2023, the company CEO RJ Scaringe informed customers in an email.

Rivian is prioritizing the trims of its “Adventure Package” trucks with the regular battery first and that the lower-end “Explorer Package” and bigger battery orders will come later.

The company has received 71,000 pre-orders for R1T pick trucks and R1s SUVs in the United States and Canada. A majority of these pre-orders are for a smaller battery pack version delivering 314 miles of distance on a single charge.

As such, the company wants to serve a large number of customers by prioritizing orders for Adventure Package that come with a small pack battery in 2022.

Following this, the company will focus on completing Explore Package preorders and vehicles with a Max pack battery configuration in 2023. Vehicles with a bigger battery pack can deliver a distance of 400 miles on a single charge.

Video game making company Riot Games has agreed to pay $100 million to settle a gender-based discrimination lawsuit with California state agencies and current and former women employees.

The gender-based discrimination class-action lawsuit which was filed in 2018 accused the company of placing women in lower-pay jobs, paying women less than men for similar work, and ignoring women for promotions.

In addition, the lawsuit also accused Riot of creating a workspace environment that harassed women employees.

The case was on track for a $10 million settlement in 2019, but the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) blocked the agreement, saying that the earlier settlement amount was not sufficient.

Now, the company will have to pay $80 million to all the current and former full-time women employees and temporary agency contracts that comprise the class-action lawsuit.

In addition, the company will $20 million for the attorney fees and miscellaneous expenses. The company has also agreed to fund a diversity and inclusion program.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has sold another 934,090 shares worth over $1.02 billion as he nears his goal of divesting a 10% stake in the company.

In addition, Musk also exercised options to buy nearly 1.6 million shares at a strike price of $6.24 per share, which were offered to him through a 2012 compensation package.

With this, Musk has offloaded about 15.8 million Tesla shares since November 7, when he first posted a poll on Twitter asking whether he should sell his 10% stake in the electric-car maker.

Although more than 50% of Musk’s Twitter followers answered ‘Yes’ to the poll, he had already said in September that he will likely sell some of his shares and will exercise a huge block of options by the end of this year.

In total, the sales of his stocks have been worth over $16 billion. In 2021, the shares of Tesla saw a massive increase of more than 50%, making Musk the richest person in the world.

A few months ago, Musk’s net worth was over $300 billion, but now his net worth is about $275 billion.

LastPass Denies any Incidents Compromising Users’ Master Passwords ?

Online password manager platform LastPass has said that there is no proof of a security breach after several users reported being notified of unauthorised login attempts.

In a Hacker News forum, several users said that their master passwords for LastPass have been compromised.

However, it is still not known how the passwords were stolen, but a similar report has come out among the users.

It looks like several reports have come from users having outdated LastPass accounts. This means that they did not use the platform for a certain period and also did not change their passwords.

This also suggests that the master password list which is being used now to try and hack these individuals accounts, may have come from a previous hack.

LastPass has said that it has not found any suspicious activity on its servers as it doesn’t store passwords, let alone master passwords.

So, if you are a LastPass user-facing issues in login attempts, you can try changing your master password.
